Create your perfect Palette with Front Cover Cosmetics.

Have you entered my Benefit giveaway yet? Enter Here.

I've always wanted to create my own palette. When you buy a palette they always contain some colours you hardly use. Creating your own palette means you can mix and match colours you love. MAC are famous for their palettes. Many people go to MAC in order to create their own palette, its something I've considered many times. It's just so expensive though. Have Front Cover Cosmetics, a brand sold in Boots, come up with a cheaper alternative?

Introducing the Front Cover Palette:

When I think of Front Cover Cosmetics I think of Christmas. Their large colourful eyeshadow palettes are popular around Christmas time. Front Cover are available all year round from Boots stores or Boots.com.

This new range is called FrontCover To Go. You buy the compact and each eyeshadow separately. The compact costs £5 and the individual eye shadows cost £4 each. If you buy four eyeshadows and the compact from Boots.com, you save £6 so it comes to £15.

The eyeshadows come in 25 different colours. They're baked eyeshadows. I have Frosted Almond, Baked Bronze, Bougainvillea and Black Inc.

So first you get your palette. It comes with a little brush too. One end is thicker than the other. So one for all over the eye and one end for the lash line. This brush is tiny, I haven't really used it. It's decent quality, but too small!

Your eyeshadows slot in quite easily. They're really secure too, so won't fall out.

As these are baked eyeshadows, they take a bit of breaking in before you can pick them up properly with your brush. I also found this with MeMeMe's Goddess Eyes Baked Shadow. Swirl your brush around the eyeshadow to break it in a bit. The more you use the shadow, the easier it becomes to pick up.

The eyeshadows are described as 'highly pigmented'. I disagree with you here Front Cover. The eyeshadows aren't very pigmented, and take building up to get a rich colour. Frosted Almond is the most pigmented, and rest take a bit more building up. So I guess the pigmentation depends on the colour you get!

These have been built up loads for this picture. You can apply less for a subtle look. They're quite shimmery colours (which I love!), except Baked Bronze which is the second one along. This has a little shimmer, but on the eye it looks quite matte.

These shadows are easily to blend, which is great in an eyeshadow. So you can blend one colour into another, so your colours don't just look like blocks! They're lovely colours, can be built up for drama or just apply one coat a more natural look.

I've had no problems with creasing. They fade a little, but it's hardly noticeable. They're baked and generally baked eyeshadows do last a lot longer. They tend to crease less too.

I created this look with my Front Cover palette:

I've used Frosted Almond, Baked Bronze and Black Inc. Read how to re-create this look here.

Have Front Cover created an alternative to the MAC palette? Yes and No. The quality of the eyeshadows isn't bad for what your paying. Once you've built them up, they pretty much stay put. There's a great range of colours too, and they're easy to put into the compact. However, the Front Cover palette only has a four eyeshadow palette option. With MAC there's a four or fifteen option. Although, with the price difference, you can always buy two front cover palettes. The eyeshadows aren't as pigmented as MAC ones either.

Have you tried Front Cover To Go? Do you have a MAC palette and think you might try this once too? Let me know your opinions :D.
