I often have statement lips in my looks, I love a good red lipstick so much! However when you really want your eyes to stand out, a more natural looking lipstick helps. Or if your looking for a natural and simple day time look, a lighter lipstick looks great! I'll review two lipsticks. MAC is quite a pinky colour, but still great for statement eyes, and Sleek a nude glossy colour.

The MAC lipstick has a matte finish, and is very pigmented, only one coat is needed. I suggest a lip liner with this lipstick, it gives a much better finish. The Sleek lipstick is really glossy and also pigmented, although I normally apply two coats as it's not as pigmented as the MAC lipstick.
The MAC lipstick lasts ages, being matte it dries onto the lips and stays there! If you have dry lips apply a good lip balm before hand. I recommend Burt's Bees lip balm, it's really nourishing but also works as a great base for lipstick. The Sleek lipstick lasts until you eat or drink. It tends to stick around the inside of your lips after eating so I always wipe it off before hand. It's really nourishing, feels more like your wearing lip balm, it contains vitamin E which is great for dry lips.
Overall I do prefer the MAC lipstick as it's my only matte lipstick and I love the finish it has. It also stays on much longer. But the Sleek lipstick is great quality for the price you pay! I love using it for a glossy finish.

i usually prefer natural lips, but on special occasions i go for the statement lips, like very bold red & pink shades :))

It is :D. My friend gave it me as the shade didn't suit her. I love bold reds and pinks too :).
ReplyDeleteI usually go for darker lips but only recently have I been warming towards the nude/neutral lip colours (I guess I'm late with trends lol). I've tried this Sleek lipstick but it's too peachy for my skin tone. MAC please me looks worth a swatch though. Both suit you well. :) x
