Natural looking lipsticks from MAC (Please Me) & Sleek (Barely There).

Have you entered my Benefit giveaway yet? Two Prizes! DO IT QUICK, LAST DAY IS TODAY! (31ST OF AUGUST) Enter Here.

MAC Lipstick in Matte Please Me £13.50 for 3g
Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Sheen Barely There £4 for 3.5g

I often have statement lips in my looks, I love a good red lipstick so much! However when you really want your eyes to stand out, a more natural looking lipstick helps. Or if your looking for a natural and simple day time look, a lighter lipstick looks great! I'll review two lipsticks. MAC is quite a pinky colour, but still great for statement eyes, and Sleek a nude glossy colour.

Sleek Lipstick in Barely There

MAC Lipstick in Please Me

The MAC lipstick has a matte finish, and is very pigmented, only one coat is needed. I suggest a lip liner with this lipstick, it gives a much better finish. The Sleek lipstick is really glossy and also pigmented, although I normally apply two coats as it's not as pigmented as the MAC lipstick.

The MAC lipstick lasts ages, being matte it dries onto the lips and stays there! If you have dry lips apply a good lip balm before hand. I recommend Burt's Bees lip balm, it's really nourishing but also works as a great base for lipstick. The Sleek lipstick lasts until you eat or drink. It tends to stick around the inside of your lips after eating so I always wipe it off before hand. It's really nourishing, feels more like your wearing lip balm, it contains vitamin E which is great for dry lips.

Overall I do prefer the MAC lipstick as it's my only matte lipstick and I love the finish it has. It also stays on much longer. But the Sleek lipstick is great quality for the price you pay! I love using it for a glossy finish.

Here's some looks I created using these lipsticks:

This look was created with MAC please me. For more information on this look click 'here'.

This look was created with Sleek Barely There. For more information and the 'Before' photo, click 'here'.

What do you think to these lipsticks? Do you prefer natural lips or statement lips?

Disclaimer: The MAC lipstick was brought by myself. The Sleek lipstick was given to me by a friend.

My First Sleek Palette - Sleek's Nude Palette!

Have you entered my Benefit giveaway yet? Two Prizes! Enter Here

For so long have I wanted a Sleek Palette. When I saw this nude palette on Maria Sparkles blog, I knew I had to have it! Nude palettes have been selling so well, Urban Decays Naked Palette and MUA Heaven and Earth are both sell out palettes. So now Sleek have had a go.

Don't the colours look gorgeous? Many people have told me how great Sleek Palettes are, so I had high expectations. Sleeks Palettes are available from Superdrug stores for £6.49. Not bad for what you get! It comes in a cute box, the palette is a matte black (not very original) with Sleek in shiny black.

This palette has two rows. The first row consists of light colours, which are all matte but the last colour. The second row consists are darker colours, which are a mix of matte and shimmer colours.

With Flash is the top, Without Flash is below.

Sorry about the bad swatches. I do have a little moan. The matte colours (most of which are on the top row), aren't very pigmented and have quite a bit of fall out. The shimmer colours are much more pigmented and fall out is less. So let's see the bottom row:

With Flash is the top, Without Flash is below.

So these are shimmer colours, all but Bark and Regal. From just doing swatches am not sure about the matte colours, but am really looking forward to using the shimmer colours.

The matte colours proved more useful in application. They're subtle but add that extra finish to a look, except Cappuccino and Honeycomb which aren't much use, they really aren't pigmented enough. The shimmer colours are really pigmented and so little is needed! I love them! Other than a little fall out, application went smoothly :D.

These colours didn't fade or crease which is great :D. My moan here is that the colour on my lash line ended up stamping itself on just above my eyelid crease, which looks silly because I the colour above my eyelid crease is much lighter. Kind of ruined my look :(.

Again, another mixed review. Overall this palette was proven itself worth the price. The matte colours add a nice finishing touch (bar two useless ones) and the shimmer colours are wonderful. The little fall out is easy to deal with, just wish the eyeshadow wouldn't transfer to the top of my eyelid so easily. In the future I will get another Sleek palette, but will go for one with mainly shimmer colours.

Here's the looks I created with my Sleek Nude Palette:

I've called this one - Greyend Goddess. I used Nubuck from the eyelid crease upto the brow, Bark along the eyelid crease and slightly below and Mineral Earth along the lash line.

This look is a Golden Smoky Eye. I've used quite a few colours here. Toast is the top colour up to the brow bone. Taupe is along the crease and just above and around the inside corner of the eye. Conker is just below the crease and under the bottom lashes. Noir is along the lash line stopping at the centre.

I used my Golden Smoky Eye for my final look:

My lipstick here is Cliniques High Impact Lipstick in Rosette.

Do you own any Sleek palettes? What do you think to them? Do you like my look?

Betty Hula 'Secret' Oil

Betty Hula The 'Secret' Oil £15.99 for 50mL

Betty Hula are a company that pride themselves in the fact that their ingredients are natural and their products are made using traditional techniques. This oil really doesn't contain much, here's the ingredients list; Grapeseed Oil, Apricot Kemel, Avocado Oil, Hemp Oil, Vitamin E, Rose Absolute, Jojoba Oil. So little, but this is good! With Betty Hula you can be sure no nasty chemicals are going into your skin. With so many facial products the ingredients list is just too long. The ingredients in this oil are meant to work in harmony with your skin to help repair your cells. My bottle is only a sample size, the full size bottle looks like so:

The bottle is made of glass, this adds an elegant touch, but not great for clumsy people like myself. I'd just break it so easily! I'm hoping once I get round to buying the full size, that the glass is good and thick!

For the past month now I've been mixing this oil into my Clinique Mosture Surge every night. It smells gorgeous, can't quite put my finger on what the smell is. It's quite like the smell of something you'd put in an oil burner.

The oil is clear, so a swatch photo would be pointless. I've used one or two drops each night and I can really see the difference it's made to my skin. I'm not old enough to have winkles, so can't comment on the anti-ageing effects. However, it's really evened out my skin tone. It's helped my ache scars and red blemishes. It's made my skin look a lot healthier as I no longer have redness from having teenage skin. I'd recommend it to anyone that has skin recovering from ache, it really speeds up the recovery process. As it helps skin to heal, it's also great for dry skin, to help cells recover and become healthy again. It's a great product for pretty much all skin types!

I'll definitely be buying this again. It's a bargain for what you get really. My tiny little bottle is lasting me ages. A full size bottle would last a good year I bet! You can pay so much more facial oils, but you no longer need to, thanks to Betty Hula!

For 10% off bettyhula.com quote BHB10 at the checkout! You can also find Betty Hula products in Sainsburys.

What's your favourite facial oil? Will you be trying Betty Hula's facial oil?

Disclaimer: This products is a PR sample, however this didn't sway my opinion. I really do love this oil!

Skull and Glossbones, more gorgeous than it sounds!

Today I'm wearing a polish from OPI's Pirates of the Caribbean Collection. This collection is gorgeous. I've loved every colour I've tried so far. This colour is called Skull and Glossbones. It's a pale grey, really subtle and stylish. I'm really loving OPI at the moment. They're polishes last so long on your nails with minimal chipping, and they're all so glossy. I love glossy polish. The polishes are so colour rich too, you definitely get what you pay for!

My nails look so short and stubby here :(. I love this colour, it's really classy. Goes with every outfit too! No need to worry about your nails and outfit clashing.

Whats your favourite OPI polish?

I love wearing my Birthday Suit! (I also love Benefit).

 Benefit - Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow / Liner£14.00 for 4.5g

I've been meaning to do this review for so long now! I take this eye shadow for granted nearly every day. It's perfect for a day time look. If you haven't heard of Benefit Cosmetics before, where have you been? Here's a little bit of information I wrote myself:

'Benefit are a wonderful company. It was thought up by two women – the Ford twins. They believe that make-up doesn’t have to be serious to be good, and they certainly proved it. Their amazingly bright and cheerful packaging is so unique, their make-up counters stick out and draw you in in department stores.'

The packaging for this creaseless eye shadow is much less colourful than other benefit products. It's still great packaging, but slightly boring compared to benefits other packaging. It's also slightly miss-leading. The box is a square, it's quite deep, making you think the pot of eye shadow is the same depth, but the pot only fills half the box.

So lets see what Benefit say about their creaseless cream eye shadow: 'Our do-it-all cream shadow lines, shades and contours eyes with its alluring crease-proof, smudge-proof formula. Go as sheer or as dramatic as you like with buildable color. Either way, these shadows stay put!'

The eye shadows come in 20 different shades, brilliant selection! I've brought 'Birthday Suit'. A gorgeous natural colour, that brightens the eyes.

Let's get down to business. You need to apply this with a eye shadow brush. Being a cream eye shadow it blends so easily, and the brush can pick it up easily. It's dries quite quickly and you can add a second coat for a more intense colour. This cream doesn't need a base, I've done this purely so you can see the colour properly. This is one coat only:

I've had no problems with this eye shadow at all. No creasing, no fading, colour stays nicely all day long. No problems with application great blending. It's perfect for a natural look with a bit of mascara during the day time.

To create looks, I often use this up to the brow bone and below the eye. Then add a bronze or brown colour along the lash line and eye crease for the perfect look!

Have you tired any Benefit eyeshadows? What do you think to them?

OPI Texas Collection NOTD

Have you entered my Benefit giveaway yet? Two Prizes! Enter Here.

Today I'm wearing a polish from OPI's Texas Collection. It's called Austin-tatious Turquoise. It's a gorgeous turquoise colour with lots of shimmer! It looks amazing! I've also used my most favourite top coat which is OPI rapidry. This makes painting your nails so much faster. Completely dry in around one minute.
OPI polish always lasts ages too! I love good rich colour, so apply three thin coats of the polish. Here's what it looks like:
I love this colour, perfect for partying! Whats your favourite OPI polish?

Disclaimer: I brought these polishes with my own money and am so glad I did.

Create your perfect Palette with Front Cover Cosmetics.

Have you entered my Benefit giveaway yet? Enter Here.

I've always wanted to create my own palette. When you buy a palette they always contain some colours you hardly use. Creating your own palette means you can mix and match colours you love. MAC are famous for their palettes. Many people go to MAC in order to create their own palette, its something I've considered many times. It's just so expensive though. Have Front Cover Cosmetics, a brand sold in Boots, come up with a cheaper alternative?

Introducing the Front Cover Palette:

When I think of Front Cover Cosmetics I think of Christmas. Their large colourful eyeshadow palettes are popular around Christmas time. Front Cover are available all year round from Boots stores or Boots.com.

This new range is called FrontCover To Go. You buy the compact and each eyeshadow separately. The compact costs £5 and the individual eye shadows cost £4 each. If you buy four eyeshadows and the compact from Boots.com, you save £6 so it comes to £15.

The eyeshadows come in 25 different colours. They're baked eyeshadows. I have Frosted Almond, Baked Bronze, Bougainvillea and Black Inc.

So first you get your palette. It comes with a little brush too. One end is thicker than the other. So one for all over the eye and one end for the lash line. This brush is tiny, I haven't really used it. It's decent quality, but too small!

Your eyeshadows slot in quite easily. They're really secure too, so won't fall out.

As these are baked eyeshadows, they take a bit of breaking in before you can pick them up properly with your brush. I also found this with MeMeMe's Goddess Eyes Baked Shadow. Swirl your brush around the eyeshadow to break it in a bit. The more you use the shadow, the easier it becomes to pick up.

The eyeshadows are described as 'highly pigmented'. I disagree with you here Front Cover. The eyeshadows aren't very pigmented, and take building up to get a rich colour. Frosted Almond is the most pigmented, and rest take a bit more building up. So I guess the pigmentation depends on the colour you get!

These have been built up loads for this picture. You can apply less for a subtle look. They're quite shimmery colours (which I love!), except Baked Bronze which is the second one along. This has a little shimmer, but on the eye it looks quite matte.

These shadows are easily to blend, which is great in an eyeshadow. So you can blend one colour into another, so your colours don't just look like blocks! They're lovely colours, can be built up for drama or just apply one coat a more natural look.

I've had no problems with creasing. They fade a little, but it's hardly noticeable. They're baked and generally baked eyeshadows do last a lot longer. They tend to crease less too.

I created this look with my Front Cover palette:

I've used Frosted Almond, Baked Bronze and Black Inc. Read how to re-create this look here.

Have Front Cover created an alternative to the MAC palette? Yes and No. The quality of the eyeshadows isn't bad for what your paying. Once you've built them up, they pretty much stay put. There's a great range of colours too, and they're easy to put into the compact. However, the Front Cover palette only has a four eyeshadow palette option. With MAC there's a four or fifteen option. Although, with the price difference, you can always buy two front cover palettes. The eyeshadows aren't as pigmented as MAC ones either.

Have you tried Front Cover To Go? Do you have a MAC palette and think you might try this once too? Let me know your opinions :D.

Luscious Red Glossy Lips

MeMeMe Cosmetics - Long Wear Satin Lip Cream in Chara (Tuscan Red) - £8.50

MeMeMe Cosmetics - Rich Colour Lip Glaze in Plum Sorbert - £7.50

There’s something about MeMeMe that have always drawn me in. Their packaging is classy and feminine. Their cosmetics always go that extra mile, have that little extra feature that makes them different from the rest.

MeMeMe Cosmetics are sold in Superdrug stores around the UK. They describe themselves as a ‘loveable boutique brand’. The inspiration for the MeMeMe brand came from the Ancient Greeks. This can be seen in their names for example; ‘Goddess Eyes’. They create their products to the standard of the ‘best & most renowned cosmetic houses’, however put them at a price women can afford. MeMeMe have an amazing story behind them, that was just me shortening it, to read more click here.

When I recieved the Chara lipstick in the post, I was so excited! I'm a huge fan of red lipstick, the drama it creates on your lips, a vintage, classy look. The lipgloss I was less excited about. I never really wear lipgloss, having long hair and living in windy England isn't the best mix with lipgloss. It all ends up in my hair, not a good look girls.

The lipstick is a bright red, with an orangey undertone. Making it perfect for paler people, like myself. It's got an amazingly creamy texture, the best textured lipstick I've ever owned. It contains Shea butter and Vitamin E, making it perfect for my dry lips. It stays on ages too!
The lipgloss is a deep purple, less suited for paler skin tones and more for darker skin tones. It's a non sticky formula, so my hair doesn't stick to it! Brilliant. It's quite a thick lipgloss, so has good pigmentation. This lipgloss is perfect for people wanting the colour intensity of a lipstick, but in a gloss.

Both products are really easy to apply. So colour rich little building up is needed, one coat of each is plenty. The lipstick being so creamy glides on effortlessly. The lipgloss isn't sticky, so also glides on with no effort on your part.

Chara on its own:
Plum Sorbert on its own:

They go really well together:

Don't they look gorgeous together? The colour of the gloss really compliments the lipstick colour, and adds a classy glossiness. This is a great look for a night out, I'd look beautiful with smoky eyes.
If your looking for long lasting colour rich lip products, MeMeMe are certainly the company to go for.

What are your favourite lip products? Do you like the look of MeMeMe colour rich products?
