Recently a company called buyapowa have taken the beauty world by storm. It's a co-buying buying site in which the price of the product goes down as more people commit to buy. I brought this Bobbi Brown eyeliner for £11.00, the retail price is £16.50, so it's quite a large saving.
Many people have recommended Bobbi Brown gel liners to me, so when it came up on buyapowa for such a good price I couldn't resist. I brought the eyeliner in the shade 'Chocolate Shimmer', as having blue eyes means brown compliments more than black. The brown colour really brings out the blue in my eyes.
So far I've been really impressed with this liner, the application is effortless. The gel glides so well making a perfect line really easy to achieve. The liner doesn't come with a brush, which is a little disappointing, but luckily my Maybelline gel liner did, so I've been using that one.
The main feature I look for in an eyeliner is last-ability. I can't stand liners and mascaras that drop to the bottom of your eyes, it's a massive pet hate of mine. This liner does last really well, on occasion it had dropped a little, but nothing too dramatic. It would last all working day, but starts to drop nearer the evening.
Overall, I really like this liner. I don't think I'd pay full price for this as it's really quite expensive. It applies well and lasts well too. I'll be looking out for more shades popping up on buyapowa.

I bought the black ink, at full price despite much umming and aaahing. I think it's great but had only tried one other gel eyeliner, which was ok (sleek) but was sold on this for it's durability. Buyapowa sounds good, I have heard of this sort of thing for expensive goods like TVs and just starting to hear of it for cosmetics. Will go check it out!

DeleteI've got the black ink one and I bought it at full price after hearing such great reviews but to be honest I have a hard time putting it on. I find it hard to get a not too thick line with it but I suppose I just need to keep at it and practice a bit more
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you need a thinner brush, it's easier to get a thinner line with a thin brush :)
DeleteI've tried a lancome one I've had for ages and picked up a cheap no 7 one with those lovely vouchers they've always got on the go but that didn't work too well xD just ordered a nice stila one though so I'll have a go with that and see how it works out. I'd buy the bobby brown one but it seems so expensive to me for a brush T_T any recommendations?
DeleteI use the one I got with an eye liner :/ no7 brushes aren't great, hope the stilla one goes well, if not maybe try MAC?
DeleteI always use gel eyeliners for the daytimes, my favourite is MAC's fluidline. It goes on so smoothly and stays on all day long. I also like it because you can barely feel it's there. Sometimes I feel that liquid eyeliners feel a bit heavy and crispy on your eyes haha. Even though the pot is so tiny, it lasts forever! I feel like I'm advertising for MAC or something haha, I would just really recommend it. It's £14 for the pot, which I think is not a bad price. I use it everyday and have had it for just over a year, and I've still got 1/4 left! So it's definitely worth the money :) I think you'll probably find this with the Bobbi Brown one too. Sorry this is a massive essay :) x
ReplyDeletehehe :) MAC fluid lines are ones I'm wanting to try as well. I purely went for Bobbi Brown on a recommendation I've received. I love some of the colours of the MAC ones are they're different so would be great to experiment with :D
