17 Lipstick - Honey Blossom

I probably spend around 10% of my life in a Boots Cosmetics stores, they have such a great selection of products, great offers and friendly staff. I feel at home in Boots!

Boots produce their own brands as well, one of their cheaper make-up brands is 17 which recently had a 3 for 2 offer, so I picked up a few pieces. The best product I picked up from this offer is the 17 Lasting Fix lipstick in Honey Blossom.

I picked up this lipstick purely for the colour. It's a gorgeous coral lipstick, perfect for spring and summer, especially as it's all about pastels this S/S. The lipstick has a sheer finish, which is probably my favourite finish for a lipstick. Matte lipsticks tend to last longer, but I've never been a fan of how drying they can be. This lipstick doesn't dry my lips at all! Not as moisturising as say, a Rockalily Lipstick, however for a cheaper lipstick it's good quality.

17 have called this their Lasting Fix Lipstick, so it should last longer than most of their lipsticks. The lasting time was pretty average to be honest, it lasted a few hours max, but that's what you get with a cheaper lipstick.

Overall I'm pretty happy with this lipstick. It's my go-to lipstick at the moment as it only takes one coat and can be worn with most colours. It costs £4.29 from Boots stores and 'here'.

What's your favourite S/S colour? Are you a fan of 17 cosmetics? Have you tried any of their lipsticks?

Cherry Scented Batiste - Dry Shampoo

Back in November I reviewed the Wild Batiste 'here'. Now Batiste have brought out yet another scented dry shampoo, in the form of Cherry scented dry shampoo:

Batiste are famous in the UK for being by far the best dry shampoo available, in my opinion anyway! They don't leave your hair bright white and full of powder, however they do banish any oiliness your hair may hold. It takes literally 30 seconds to use, a quick spray, massage in and your done. I tend not to brush afterwards as it takes out the added volume, however Batiste do recommend that you 'brush into style'.

I really liked the chocolate scent of Batiste Wild and didn't think I'd find another dry shampoo scent I'd like as much. However this cherry scent is pretty close, it's a strong scent and quite sweet as well. This doesn't float everybody's boat, but personally I love sweet scents and enjoying using this dry shampoo just as much as wild. The design of the bottle has to be one of my favourites, Batiste say it's inspired by vintage glamour, it's so cute and looks perfect sitting in my bathroom.

Batiste comes in large sized 200mL can which lasts me ages! It costs a mere £2.99 from Superdrug and Boots stores.

Will you be picking up a can of this new Batiste? What's your favourite Batiste scent?

Outfit of the Day... Fox Bag.

I've been getting more in to fashion recently, I've always wanted to do outfit posts but never had the time to learn how to take the photos well. My boyfriend gave me a quick masterclass at the weekend, so I've given it a go:

Scarf - Lola Rose £25 from LFWend
Blazer - New Look £24.99
Dress - Jennifer Lily £15 from The Clothes Show
Bag - Temporary Secretary £18
Shoes - River Island £22
Lipstick - MUA £1 shade 2 (Can't believe the quality! It's my go to lippie).

I really like this outfit. Browns, burgundy and rusty colours are my favourite colours to wear in colder weather. The blazer was brought for LFWend and will serve me well all season round. The rabbit scarf is simply gorgeous, it's 100% wool and incredibly soft, I saw it at LFWend and couldn't leave without one! The shoes were brought quite a while a go as I saw them and fell in love. It's not been the weather to wear them yet, but I have high hopes that it will warm up enough soon, River Island have a great SS12 collection.

What do you think to my outfit post? Would you like to see more?

My Week In Pictures...

It's been a difficult week for personal reasons, but I've got some great photos to share with you!

We found ponies while on a drive around the peaks (Peak District, Derbyshire).

My trip to LFWend (read more 'here'), afterwards I took a walk along the river, the london eye looked gorgeous all lit up in the dark.

Went home and saw my baby.

Found my new favourite chocolate - seriously try it!

Hows your week been? Did you also visit LFWend?

Shop MAC Cook MAC Limited Edition Collection

I don't normally publish press photos of product launches, however this one has really caught my eye. It's one of the best MAC collections in a long time, and has generated some what of a buzz in the beauty world. Shop MAC Cook MAC is a gorgeous spring/summer collection, with bright shades and beautiful packaging, who can resist?

The blushers and lipsticks caught my eye the most:

Will you be buying any of this new collection? Have you also been reading about this collection with eyes of lust?

London Fashion Weekend (LFWend)....

If your a regular follower, you'll have read that on Tuesday, iFabbo announced that me and 9 other bloggers/journalists were receiving a press pass and VIP treatment on the opening day of London Fashion Weekend. I was ever so excited! My blog has taken me to many places, and I've met so many wonderful people so far, I'm ever so lucky and really appreciate all my readers that continue to support me in my journeys!

So this little country girl headed off to London. I'm really not used to attending fancy events like this and learnt a few little lessons along the way:
  • You don't need to show your ticket to every security guard you see once in the area. Once your in, your in.
  • Somerset house has cobbled paths, be careful when wearing heels! I nearly fell twice (oops!).
  • The toilets are fancy, but there is no need to proclaim this rather loudly.
It's fair to say, I didn't do posh and fancy. However, I did really enjoy myself! We had our own little cornered off section in the bar as we sipped drinks and ate nibbles. Then we were lead to watch the catwalk on second row, and given goodie bags - containing hand cream, make-up wipes etc.

I really enjoyed the experience, the catwalk was brilliant!

The catwalk went as so:

  1. Holly Fulton SS12 Collection.
  2. Prim Rose Trends - Pastels and Frills, my favourite SS12 trend!
  3. Antipodium AW12 Collection.
  4. Game On Trends - Sports Luxe, not feeling this trend yet!
  5. Jasper Conran SS12 Collection.

I'd like to thank iFabbo for providing me with this experience, and Meg for looking after us so well during the busy evening. I you'd like to join iFabbo follow the 'link', I've been a member for just under a year now and they're ever so helpful and full of blogging tips.

Are you an iFabbo member? Are you planning on attending LFWend or have you already been? What you do think to the whole experience?

Disclosure: My press pass was provided free of charge, which I obtained through iFabbo.

Rockalily - ZOMG and Sailors Beware

I like to play safe, I often go for big brand names when it comes to make-up. If I want a new piece of make-up I hit Boots, Debenhams, MAC etc, independent make-up brands never really come to mind. However, saying that, one independent brand Rockalily is everywhere right now! Most bloggers have heard of Rockalily, she's all over twitter with people singing praise for her lipsticks, and at blogging events I always see someone applying a Rockalily lipstick.

Recently Rockalily has teamed up with The London Lipgloss to create a limited edition lipstick called ZOMG. Zoe who owns The London Lipgloss really is the perfect person to design a lipstick, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on one!

I put in my order for ZOMG and Sailors Beware, they arrived the next day, excellent service.

How a product looks plays a huge role as to whether I'll buy the product or not. The lipsticks are beautifully packaged, in leopard print and pink flower boxes and square lipstick cases, Rockalily has clearly put a lot of thought into how the lipsticks look.

The lipsticks are certainly the best I've tried yet! I can't believe I haven't tried these before, where have they been all my life? They really are all a girl could want in a lipstick - pigmented, long-lasting, moisturising and easy to apply. All you need is one coat for full-on colour. The lipsticks contain vitamin E which will moisturise your lips as your wearing the lipstick, meaning no more dry, cracked lips.

How about last-ability for you? These last longer than MAC lipsticks by far. With a MAC lipstick I find it's gone after a drink and meal, however with Rockalily your lipstick is still hanging on!

Now onto the shades. Sailors Beware is a red with blue undertones making it perfect for pale girls like myself. It brings out my skin tone more, where as most red lipsticks make me look paler. ZOMG is really difficult to describe! On the stick it looks like a bright pink with hints of red, however when I applied it become a quite light pink. I've seen a few blog posts on this, and ZOMG looks different on everyone.

ZOMG Rockalily Lipstick

Sailors Beware Rockalily Lipstick

Rockalily lipsticks are £14.00 each for 4 grams of the lipstick. Well worth the extra money in my eyes, I'll be trying more independent brands in the future. Both of these lipsticks are limited edition, meaning they're not always in stock but you can be put into a mailing list. The lipsticks are available from 'here'.

Do you own a Rockalily lipstick? Would you consider buying one? Are you a fan of independent make-up brands?
